Lesson 7

Controversies and Councils

From the 4th century through the 8th century, the church focused its attention on theological debates surrounding the Person of Jesus Christ. These debates culminated in major church councils, the most famous convening in 325 at Nicaea. But each of these seven councils was important in its own way. In this lesson, we learn about the conversations that Christian leaders were having centuries ago about the Savior. The result should be a greater desire in our hearts to fix our eyes on the Author and Perfecter of the faith, the Lord Jesus.
