Lesson 12
The Gospel Goes Forth
The 19th century marked two competing trends. On the one hand, Christianity came under attack from liberalism and skepticism in unprecedented ways. On the other hand, the gospel went forth to the world at a scale like never before. The growth of Crhistianity in the 19th century is a powerful testimony to the triumph of God's truth over the errors of men. In this lesson, we focus on the modern missions movement, starting in the late 18th century. We will consider the compelling examples of gospel witnesses who took the message of salvation all across the globe.
